About the event
2026 marks the 50th anniversary of Lysnar House Studios, a much-loved creative hub in Gisborne, New Zealand, that has supported and inspired local artists since opening its doors in 1976.
Tucked behind the Tairāwhiti Museum on Stout Street, the historic villa has long served as a vibrant meeting place for potters, artists, and photographers. Generously gifted by the Lysnar family for community use, the studio complex continues to nurture creativity and collaboration across the region.
To celebrate this milestone, the resident groups — Gisborne Pottery Group, Gisborne Artists' Society, and Gisborne Camera Club — will present a special combined exhibition at the Tairāwhiti Museum.
